The Impact of AI on Social Media 


Social media is an important tool that influences so many parts of our lives. Social media platforms, like Tik Tok, are using AI to expand their horizons, we can expect to see a different approach towards interacting with people and connecting online. An article by
Forbes mentions how there were 4.26 billion social media users worldwide in 2021, averaging 2 hours and 27 minutes on social media everyday (Darbinyan, 2023).With so many users, we know more people are likely to adopt the ideals of AI through social media. 

Lately, everyone has been saying AI is changing the way social media works. But the question remains, how? The year 2023 is considered to be apart of the digital era, and a massive level of data is continuously generated and gathered. By managing the gathered information, AI tools and programs help different social media platforms enhance certain features and promote activities. Things like creating content, generating/managing advertisements, and campaigning for brands is all thanks to AI (Darbinyan, 2023). 

Although a lot of benefits come out of using AI to enhance users' social media experience, there are also several limitations that can change the nature of people's thinking and lifestyle. With the exponential growth of technological advancements, these platforms face several issues dealing with ethical guidelines and even legal issues. At the same time, certain platforms choose to advocate for different events and change that some people are not always willing to support nor accept. These are just some of the things companies associated with social media have to look out for.
